A Last Word on Safe Sex

When we started this idea of Concerned Bloggers, my mind immediately leapt into doing something still rather taboo like sex. I’ve never been one to mince words regarding most anything, and the ladies who’ve joined this group seem to follow suit. I love them for it.

So far it has been very educational experience. I’ve learned some people really can’t handle talking about sex openly, and still equate it with shame or embarrassment. Through the research, we discovered that there are so many people out there who are not taking precautions, especially in universities. Why? Are these concepts linked? What will stop this?

I think the important part is that people keep talking about all the shit that they don’t want to talk about. It’s like if it’s the “hard thing to do” then that usually means it’s the right thing to do. With an oversexed culture exposed on television, it’s no wonder so many teens and young adults haven’t a CLUE as to reality. Sex is implied or an innuendo that is vague and totally unreliable. That shit needs to stop. Start asking direct questions. If you don’t have friends to ask, as me. I’ll take any kinda heat you got and be completely up front with you. No shame. No judgement. Those are two concepts I fucking hate.

So what’s the last word on safe sex? Communication. Talk it out, bitches. It could save your life.
